Fantastic saw

I have only owned this saw for a few months and I love it. It has a way better balance to it than any of the saws we have used at work (Framing), and it is light and comfortable. It powers through tough cuts like ripping a 23 degree bevel on the side of a 20 foot 2×4. the only complaint (and it’s a small one) is that the blade change wrench that came with mine is a very loose fit and slips off the bolt when you try to change the blade. As far as the saw goes, it is amazing. Absolutely a worthwhile buy for anyone looking for a saw. And on top of all that, it is consistently a cheaper buy than lower quality saws at any hardware store I have been to. This saw is absolutely worth it.

Well Balanced

This is a Well Balanced saw. It is due to it’s magnesium construction. Where most saws are half plastic and half metal, they feel heavy on one side. I have never had a saw with 15 Amp power before, and as an electrician, I was worried if it would be too much power to handle comfortably. Between it’s sure grip, balanced feel, smooth operation and light weight, the SKILSAW Model # SPT67WM-22 cuts through anything with comfort and ease! This is a Pro Grade Saw that is easy to handle!
I have had several sidewinders before and the ones I would avoid have a plastic tab connecting the body and the plate. None of the Skill Saws are made that way!
Except for the handles, this one is ALL METAL! And believe me, you do not want a metal handle, they are cold and uncomfortable! This has a good quality cord on it, which stays flexible on cold days! A spindle lock for changing the blade. Easy to make adjustments. On board wrench. Easy to see line of cut! Skill has put a whole lot of world class engineering and quality manufacturing into this product. Nail It!

Work horse!

This saw is great. It has all the features of the DeWalt DWE575 (except for 1/8″ less cut depth – no big deal), such as a clear line of sight and light weight, but also adds on to many of those. By using four stator windings instead of the typical two windings found on other brands’ circular saws, Skilsaw was able to increase the motor power to 3 (?) horsepower (compared to 2.6), the same as in the latest Skilsaw worm drives, which allows its blade speed (NOT motor speed) to be 5300 RPM instead of 5200 RPM. That translates into a faster blade tip speed of 114.3 mph compared to 112.2 mph. The magnesium motor housing is also a huge bonus. The motor also stays much cooler than the Dewalt saws we have used. All in all we love this saw and look forward to continued improvements.

Beast of the East

I bought this saw as a replacement to an old sturdy Bosch. Now I came to this brand because I find it striking how all circular caws regardless of brand are referred to as (SKILSAWS) it’s something that goes back to when I was a boy. So when I discovered that the brand was going through a reconstructive phase to Ensure Professional Quality, I followed the history of the name… And man, this thing is beastly. Working as a full time Carpenter I use every brand on the site as we all tend to use everyones equipment at one point to another. And out of them all, this sidewinder packs a punch you usually only see out of a worm-drive torque wise. It’s accurate and being all magnesium, its ready to take the abuse. Rock on SKILSAW, your staying true to the history name.

Surprising, but its The Best Circular Saw I’ve use

I have been in carpentry since the age of six. I have used just about every brand of saw and found that the de-wult was great on the job but eh not just what needed to feel out of a saw. I watched this saw unfold online for a while and finally purchase when our stone mason backed into the drive where we were working and ran over the de-wult. on to the store I purchased this one. It is excellent, light and has the ease of control for all day. And yes its durable first day out we cut into the side of a house in the rain. cut trim, siding, plywood, pt lumber. you get the idea.. if it was gonna break I planned to break it today. Well guess i found my new favorite saw because this saw isn’t going anywhere any time soon. But it now, quit looking
