For such a small saw, very powerful. Only one time thus far to cut 3/4 plywood. Cut it like warm butter.

I sure I will die before this saw does.

A decade or two ago I purchased a Skill Circular saw and have abused it a bunch. The latest was when I put a concrete blade on it and cut up a slap to make stepping stones. It still functions, but makes a little bearing noise when I release the trigger. So, I purchased another one and put a 40 tooth blade in it and love the way it cuts. Thanks for build tools I can rely on...!

I have been using this circular saw for a few months, and it fits the bill of this DIY guy. It cuts clean, is light weight yet sturdy. I am well pleased and I have no doubt that I will get years of good service from this saw. I definitely recommend it and I would buy it again.

good tool

I am new at all this but as far as I can tell this is a GREAT tool. It is very easy to use and leaves a clean cut. I have been useing it to remodel my house and the only complaint I have is that I think the cord is too short (thats why they make extention cords, I know). I dont know if they are all like that or not because this is the first one I have ever bought.

What you expect from Skil

My old SkilSaw died after nearly twenty years. I didn't need to shop other makes and am completely satisfied with my new one. For every job I do around the house, this is what I need.

I purchased the product for my husband for Fathers day. He used it Friday for the first time he was well pleased with the way it handled and the way it cut. I made a great choice.

EZ to use

As a first time user of a circular saw, I was a bit apprehensive. I read several safety and how-to-articles. I had no trouble at all in attaching the blade that came with it. The push lock tab held everything in place with no movement. In minutes I was ready. I first made a few practice cuts on the end of a 2 x 4 and found it to be very easy. I had a little trouble at first holding it , but soon it became second nature. On to tackling the job at hand which was replacing the edge of the roofline. This amounted to cutting out some sections of shiplap which also required setting the cut depth carefully so as not to cut the rafter tails and facia. I did so without a scratch! Then I had to cut out some rotten sections of a couple of the rafter tails. Not wanting to remove the sheathing on the roof, I decided to just trim off the rotted section near the plate and butt join the new tails. Nearly perfect fit, it was tight enough, I would not even had to have use screws, but I did anyway using an impact driver. Next called for cutting off a length of rotted facia requiring a 45 degree bevel cut on the end. I used a speed square as a guide for the saw foot. Perfect cut, first time! Saw handled nicely, was fairly light, and I could do so with one hand if necessary although it is not recommended. Only complaints are the markings for adjustments are hard to see, and not completely accurate. The bevel adjustment is a little tricky and has a tendancy to stick, that is, the movement is not all that smooth and takes a little fiddling to get the settings accurate. The blade that comes with the saw is not the best, but it will do. I will purchase a better quality blade.

I love this saw!

My thirty-plus year old Black & Decker saw quit on me in the middle of a deck building project and I needed a replacement fast. This Skil saw looked like the best similar product among the various models that I shopped. I liked this one much better than my old B&D saw. It is lighter, easier to handle and line up for the cut, and it cut through the 2 x 4's like butter! I'm looking forward to more projects with this saw!

Excellent power for the price
Rating: 5
I bought this saw for small projects around the house. I wanted one that had enough power to do the job (cutting boards, fence rails, decking, etc.) but didn't break the bank. This saw certainly has the power for the job and it was relatively inexpensive. It is well-made and seems to be very durable.

Great saw. Been using SKIL for a while now and needed to replace an older circ saw from another brand and this one fit the bill. My only concern was that it didn.t come with a lefty option but hey not many do!
