Great Heavy Duty Saw
Rating: 5
I've had my miter saw for about three years now, and it's still plugging right along with no problems. I have yet to find a job it can't handle. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Great value over many years!
Rating: 5
I bought this model over 10 years ago, and have used it many, many times over this period of time. It was used by the Boy Scouts for 2 different Eagle Scout projects, and loaned out for use in a neighborhood hit with basement floodings to do repair work. I finally bought a new blade, and it still works like new. Built for precision. Bought son-in-law the same model last year, which has been used extensively for home remodeling. Great results!
Rating: 5
This saw was easy to set up and I get accurate cuts every time. Blade changes are easy. The saw has plenty of power for heavy duty cutting as well as the finesse to make more delicate cuts. I really enjoy this saw! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I love this thing
Rating: 5
When I finally lay this saw to rest it will be replaced with a 12" slide miter saw. Even the weight won't stop me from bringing this saw to the job. From finish to rough this thing is a beast. I had to purchase a saw blade arbor adapter (DWAMTRABR) to fit the 12" blade. But I love it. I've considered getting the laser but works well without it. Excellent Compound Miter Saw
Rating: 5
I have been using this saw for 3 months now and have been very happy with the results. It creates very accurate cuts with and is easy to adjust when switching to different angles. The fence is very sturdy and large enough to hold most materials. If you are doing trim work, I highly recommend investing in the crown stops that are available for this model. Overall, I feel like this is a very high quality product.

Great saw
Rating: 4
Bought this saw about 10 or so years ago and was great. Recently I can't get 90 degree cuts. Saw is unplugged and guard is clamped. Arm is in the home position(up all the way) and I have my electronic Wixey gauge mounted to the side ( magnetic) of my new 12 inch blade with 100 teeth. Saw set at 90 degrees and I slowly bring the arm down all the way and my gauge reads 89.5 degrees. This is too much out of alignment for making jewelry boxes. Checked everything to manual and I believe that my problem is in the trunion and pivot pin. I need some help. When I call the customer service I get no help. They tell me to take it to a service center for $185.00. Has anyone experienced this problem, I need your help. Thanks, Abbey Thomas

Cracks in casting
Rating: 2
How many people tilt the saw back and look for cracks? I bought a DW716 and when I went to engrave my 4 digit I.D. number on it and it was cracked in several places.

Great Saw overall
Rating: 5
I was impressed with how smooth the saw operated and the quality of the hardware gives this saw a very solid feel. The dust collection, paired with an adequate dust collector is quite impressive.

Needs work, but a decent product worth a look.
Rating: 4
While it seems the overall quality and attention to detail has diminished quite a bit in this brand (formerly known as Hitachi), this saw does not disappoint in power and features. There are several accuracy issues as well as play in the stop locks for the bevel that definitely need to be addressed as well as some incredibly sloppy welds/joins in the saw that I wish they would have cared to cleaned up, however, as companies race to compete with each other and their own bottom line due to rampant greed and not giving any actual care about the end user/consumer, I sincerely doubt those issues will ever be addressed by any company, let alone Matabo HPT. So, for the price tag, it could and should be of a be MUCH better build with MUCH better accuracy and less play in the stop points with MUCH better attention to overall detail and design. That said, when compared to similarly priced items touting the same 'bells and whistles'', it's more than a decent choice, it's about the best choice out there. Only time and use will tell if this will hold up to the sands (saw dusts?) of time like my 1951 Craftsman 10" table saw has, but what can you expect nowadays as companies give more cares about their bottom line over creating a truly lasting, quality product. so far so good only problem is adjusting laser . seems to be very accurate out of the box cuts very smooth and a like sanded finish. disappointed that it did not have a soft start motor that was noted in some reviews if it did i would give it 5 stars

Great saw
Rating: 4
1. The motor is strong. 2. The blade is sharp and has cut through the pine I've been using like butter. 3. The laser is bright and alignment is easily adjusted. 4. The slide is easy to maneuver and use. The operation is not as smooth as another saw I evaluated. 5. For the price an excellent value. I would buy again.

Outstanding saw!

This saw is very well designed and the build quality is excellent. It is a pro tool at a DIY price. True cuts, detents are great, angle locking systems are superb! Laser is accurate and easy to adjust. No complaints so far!

10 inch sliding miter saw
Rating: 4
Went with the 10 inch instead of the 12 because it fits better in my shop. True out of the box, just doesn't have the feel of my 15 year old Delta that it replaced. Getting the job done after I upgraded the blade.

Input/Thoughts on Purchase
Rating: 3
A few things related to the saw. The saw has nice features but I found that the sliding bars are rusting quite rapidly which only means that over time the glide bushings will wear and the saw will become very hard to adjust properly. Secondly the scale that is on the front of the saw is off on one side by at least 1.5 to 2 degrees (one used for angle cuts). The machined detents seem to be better at holding the angle. Third, the bevels are difficult to adjust accurately. I tried setting up +/- 45 degrees and it's difficult to get it within 1-2 degrees repeatably.

I really wanted to Love this saw, but .....
Rating: 2
I really wanted to love this saw. It was awesome until I realized the miter fence was not straight. I mean, this thing was bad! The left side fence did not align with the right side fence. The fence is a one piece casting and there's no way to fix it. Where's the Quality Control at Metabo - or whomever makes this product for them? They must have been asleep the day my saw was assembled. I'm a Product Manager for Fortune 500 manufacturing company and one thing I know is that Quality Control is paramount to having a successful product which leads to product sales growth. When I contacted Metabo Customer Service, they just told me to return the saw to the retailer. So, that's what I did and I did NOT purchase another Metabo saw. I paid the extra $100 and bought a 12" Dewalt.
