Great saw to have in your collection
Rating: 5
I borrowed a friends several months ago to remodel my bathroom and it was very nice. Just the right size to get the job done. Changing blades is a ease and having the different types of blades is awesome. It's not a saw I use every day but its one you will be glad you have when you need it.I liked it so much I went out and bought my own and no you cant borrow it 🙂 Overall it's a great saw with many different uses.

Tough little rec saw
Rating: 5
I am shocked to say that I did not expect a 6.5amp size saw would be as good and powerful as this one. I used this the very same day It was received. The hyper tough has performed great and cuts pretty fast since the short time owning this. It has been used for cutting a few 2x4's, I dismantled a truck load of pallets and triming some medium side brances from my frontyard. I did noticed that it is easier and much more convenient than using a chainsaw for tree trimming. The tool free blade is also easy to change and Make quick cuts very simple. It may not be as strong as the Dewalt or Milwaukee brand reciprocating ones, but never the less it will surely get the job done. It is also lightweight to where my wife was able to do a littlte cutting and handled it well and she is a small lady. This thing is very sturdy and reliable for your household needs. The blade that comes with it can cut wood and pvc pipe, just wish it would have came with more than one. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a reciprocating saw for home improvements.

A handy little pruning device
Rating: 5
I had the opportunity to test out and keep this Reciprocating Saw from Walmart through the Spark Reviewer Program. First, I have to mention its the most inexpensive Reciprocating Saw that I could find. I did notice other top brand names available for about twice as much. I'm not sure if given this item if I would have chosen the popular brand names and paid the extra cash for basically the same item.
Compared to the other Reciprocating Saws this model is much lighter. I would say its about half as light as the top brand model. This model weighs in at about 4lbs compared to 7lbs for the Large brand. I used this to prune some of our trees in our backyard. I must say that holding this gets somewhat heavy when you are only using one hand. I know you should use one hand for the trigger and one hand on the base for a more comfortable feel. Yet, I found myself wanting to reach for a higher branch and the lighter feel of this model is quite important compared to a heavier model. This model was feeling quite heavy after the pruning job and I could see where the weight is significant.
The Hyper Tough Saw's feel is well built for the price. This Walmart brand saw cuts tree limbs quite quickly. Its not like a chain saw feel. Yet, its much nicer than using a hand saw. This being a corded model I was able to use a 100ft cord and go around from tree to tree to cover our yard.
The Hyper Tough Saw comes with one blade. This blade is used for wood cutting. There are blades available for metal and plastic cutting. I can only speak for the wood cutting. I felt it was fine. Again, it doesn't just blow through the wood but does a decent job for the price. Wish it had a little more power but seems to do the pruning work that I need to do just fine.
Taking the blade in and out to change them only takes a couple of seconds as you just turn the dial and pops in and out. This model comes with a hex key to change angles and different degrees of the blade. The rated current is 6.5 amps and the cord is six feet long.
To change what is called the pivoting shoe you need the hex key. I kind of wish the Saw had a holder or storage space for the hex key but will have to keep someplace where I won't forget it. I have a feeling I will lose the hex key before I need to adjust the pivoting shoe.
Overall I'm tempted to pay more for the brand name item but found this lighter weight inexpensive model works just fine for the work I need to do around the house. I give this a definite buy. Enjoy the spring.!!!!

Tough Build Well Made
Rating: 5
Easy to hold and operate with speed adjustment with the trigger. Blade is fast and easy to change. The blade that comes with it is for wood and is heavy and sharp. Cuts right through a 2X4. Clean good cut. Haven't used it on a big job, but I'm sure it will get the job done. It's kind of noisy but that's expected. Wear glasses lots of dust.
I wish it came with a bag or some kind of case to carry it around like all my other tools
All in all I'm very happy with the quality.

Great little saw!
Rating: 5
This saw is great! It's smaller than a typical reciprocating saw and it makes it extremely easy to handle and will fit in tighter spots than a standard reciprocating saw. Don't let the smaller size fool you, this saw is powerful!
Blades are easily changed by twisting the collar counter clockwise, inserting the blade, and releasing the collar. Very quick and easy! I had some cedar 1x2's that needed to be cut up and thisnsaw made quick work of them.
Easy blade changes, compact, and powerful...this saw is the total package!

Muti-purpose tool
Rating: 5
This reciprocating saw is solidly built and its design allows for secure and safe operation. The instruction manual is well written and tells you how to make many of the basic cuts that may be needed. It has a pivot shoe to control the length of the blade for the needed cutting. By varying the pull on the trigger switch you can control the speed of your cut. Blades can be interchanged without tools. The manual even tells you what the different blades are for. One surprising use is cutting hard-to-reach branches on shrubs. The small blades and sleek design allow you to reach areas that conventional tool would find almost impossible. This item comes with the saw body, a wood cutting blade and a hex key for adjusting the pivoting shoe. You may not use this tool very often but it will be very helpful when you need it.

Sturdy Saw - Bang For Your Buck
Rating: 5
Definitely a decent, sturdy saw for simple jobs around the house. The saw feels fairly sturdy and is pretty light compared to other models that are available. The saw comes with a single blade for cutting wood, and it works well in removing a fairly thick branch. I can envision this working well on drywall and other wooden surfaces. I think a different blade would be needed for other types of materials. The tool free blade clamp makes changing the blade fairly simple. The 6 foot cord is also flexible enough for me to reach higher branches. A sturdy saw for basic housework.

Very Capable Reciprocating Saw
Rating: 4
This is my first experience with the Hyper Tough name brand and so far I am not disappointed. This reciprocating saw seems well built and powerful enough at 6.5 amps. There is a variable speed control trigger so that the speed of the saw can be adjusted as needed. It comes with a single blade for sawing wood, but other blades can be purchased separately. The blades can be easily inserted and removed without the need of any sort of tool (see picture). The saw has a pivoting foot that can be adjusted to change the amount of blade that will extend past the foot for cutting (also shown in the close up picture). The pivot angle of the foot cannot be locked into place and will twist relatively easily. With the included blade it zipped through pine very easily. I also cut through a 2x2 piece of composite decking material and it took quite a bit longer, but it did make it through after about 30 seconds. Plunge cutting can be performed directly into surfaces that can't be cut from an end (the cut can start in the middle of the surface). The only negative I noticed was that the blade seems to vibrate quite a bit from side to side when operated at its maximum speed. All in all this is a very capable reciprocating saw that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Lightweight, powerful
Rating: 4
I got this to see how much the power and weight has changed on this type of saw since I owned one several years ago. It is a lot lighter weight and seems to have good cutting power. I gave it a try on some trim wood scrap I had laying around and it cut it nice and smooth. I especially like the quick change blade holder. It makes changing or installing the blade easy. I will be using this for a lot of my smaller jobs until I am confident it will hold up to heavy cutting duties.

Review of Hyper Tough 6.5 AMP Reciprocating Saw
Rating: 4
I received this product in return for my honest review. The product reviewed
is a Hyper Tough 6.5 AMP Reciprocating Saw and is sold by Walmart.
This is a value priced saw and intended for the person who is the market
for an entry level reciprocating saw for occasional use.
The model number is 3328 and is rated at 6.5 Amps and and comes with a
six foot cord. The saw has a variable-speed trigger switch and weighs in
at 4.78 pounds. Dimensions are 18.11 X 3.15 X 5.71 inches blade speed
is listed from 0-3000 Strokes per minute. The saw comes with one 5 inch
long wood cutting blade that fits into the tool-less blade clamp,a very
convenient feature. The pivot shoe pivots and can be extended or retracted
with the use of a hex key that is provided. These adjustments allow you
to control the length of the exposed blade. All blades with the same tail
configuration will fit this saw. There are many different blades to match
the job you are doing remember do not try and cut metal with a wood cutting blade.
As a rule try and use the shortest blade length possible as you will have better
control over the material you are cutting. The same is true for the strokes
per minute or speed control, use the lowest speed possible to get the job
done. Longer blades will flex and whip at higher strokes per minute and
be difficult to control and this is true of all reciprocating saws.
The box that the saw came in advertises a two year warranty but sadly
there is no warranty card included. Keep your receipt or better yet make
a copy as original receipts tend to fade over time. I also make it a rule to
keep the original shipping box in the event an exchange or warranty work
is required.
I can not speak to the long term durability of this saw as only time will
tell. This is perfect fit for a homeowner or person you wants a light weight
but powerful entry level reciprocating saw. It is a great value at this price
point and I would definitely recommend it to friend or person on a tight
budget.
