Great Saw
Rating: 5
I just brought this saw to get rid of a backyard pipe canopy that had rusted and not able to get the screws out. I have never used one before but found it easy to work. I purchase extra blades for our next project and everything went in the case with no problems.

My first Milwaukee
Rating: 5
The first job was to tear of the complete roof of a cabin which happened easily, quickly and safely. It cut through old hard beams with nails with minimal vibration. It cuts steel well but goes through blades quickly. The only complaint is the rubber grip keeps coming off.

Excellent saw for the money
Rating: 5
I needed to replace a 12 year old recip saw from another manufacturer that finally died. While there are many recip saws on the market, I had always wanted a REAL Milwaukee Sawzall and this saw fit the bill nicely. I use my recip saw for home remodeling projects, custom car fabrication, and even trimming trees. The 6519-31 is well balanced and light enough to one hand when needed. The 12amp motor provide plenty of unending power for even the toughest jobs like cutting titanium bolts. If there are any negatives about thsi saw the only one I can think of is it's not 100% Made in USA.

Plastic Case
Rating: 4
I am disappointed that the plastic case does not have room to store exta blades. Now it is "run to the truck and get the Sawzall and remember to bring the extra blades." The case is made of plastic, how much would it have cost to make it large enough to hold both the cord and extra blades? The old tin box was great. I wish my new saw would fit into it and I would throw this useless plastic case away.

The plastic case
Rating: 4
My 25 year old Milwaukee quit, need to replace it. Why the plastic case ?? I have enough tools with plastic cases. Why cheapen a saw that is the benchmark of reciprocating saws ??

Impressive Reciprocating Saw!
Rating: 5
I am so impressed with this Porter Cable reciprocating saw! I have never used one before and was excited to try it out! I do a lot of DIY and love remodeling my condo! It is so easy to put the blade on and remove. No tools, just flip the lever and pull out the old one and push in the new one, that easy! So easy to to change the cutting depth so you can cut through 4x4 posts easily. I had a pallet in the garage I was saving to tear apart to make signs. This saw cut through the boards easily. This saw is very powerful! I had so much fun with it! I plan on purchasing some carbide blades that can cut through metal for some lanterns I am making. I just love this saw! It is so powerful with a 7.5 amp,low vibration, so it didn't get away from me! You can easily adjust the speed and the pivoting shoe makes it easy to maneuver around any objects when cutting. Best of all, it didn't overheat. I finished cutting down the pallet in no time! Excellent product and quality!

A reliable, versatile, reciprocating saw
Rating: 5
I personally was not familiar with the name "Porter Cable" as a tool manufacturer. My dad recognized the name right off. He said they had been making power tools for quite a while and were know to make reliable products. Right out of the box, I measured the body of the saw to be 19 inches from the end of the adjustable shoe to the end of the handle. I was surprised and the larger size of this saw. For some reason, I expected it to be smaller. I measured the length of the cord to be 69 inches. If you include the length of the plug and the base of the cord connecting the saw, you will get 6 feet of length. This saw is very versatile in that it will cut wood or metal. Just make sure you have the correct blade attached for the job you are doing. This saw comes with only one blade. And that blade is for wood cutting only. The blade snapped in easily to the blade clamp. All you do is push the lever and insert the blade. A hex wrench is included with the saw to adjust the depth of the adjustable shoe. It is not recommended to use the saw without the shoe attached. The shoe is there to guide your blade and help you keep control of the saw. Another feature of the saw, it has variable speed. This simply means the saw will move at a slow rate and then go to a faster speed depending on how much you squeeze the trigger. Last, additional blades are purchased separately. They come in varying lengths and uses for blades. I discovered a pruning blade for the saw. And, you are not restricted to buying Porter Cable blades for the saw. Just make sure that the attachment end of the blade will fit into the blade clamp.

Way better than I expected!
Rating: 5
I am absolutely thrilled with this saw. I got this just as I was beginning work on a small shed for my back yard. I have a small circular saw that's great for a lot of my needs but it's bulky and no good off the bench. This is a powerful saw that moves where I need it. It didn't bog down on heavier/harder boards. I see a great use for both battery operated tools and plug ins. I will admit though that this was nice to not have it wear down or to have to buy a back up battery. I'd buy another of these in a heartbeat if I needed to and nigh just so I have one in my garage and in my new shed. Also, it came very well packaged, was a breeze to get started right out of the box and included everything I needed.

Reciprocating saw

This is one tough little saw. First thing I used this saw on was a couple of roots heading along my foundation. Just cleaned dirt away and this saw went right through a six inches root in no time. Would definitely recommend.

Got the job done!
Rating: 4
The saw was powerful and had no complaints about its performance. It is quite heavy, so it was hard for me to hold onto it. Maybe better product for a man, but I'm pretty handy and like to do things. It was very easy to put together. Overall, I liked it and look forward to some house projects!
