DOES THE JOB
Rating: 5
I have been using this saw for over 3 months now. I use it to cut out all sorts of things for my business....crosses, doves, Easter items, hearts, and so on. I use Skil blades with it. I've not had a problem with maneuvering the wood through the blade. I am able to cut circles, tight places, and curves with ease. It works great for me. The light does vibrate and can be annoying. My work space is well lit, so it's not like I depend on that light. I'm happy with it and the price I paid.

Highly recomended.

This tool exceeds my expectations. Better than the Rockwell i had for 5 years. This is great for hobby or up to 1/2 in thickness. Not for professional use. Great for cutting all soft or hard wood for my Viking long boat i am making. Great controll using a good grade of saw blade. You will be happy with this scroll saw.

Saw is ok as expected, but the whole blade guard assembly seems cheesy and a bother. Too, the support rod is sloppy in the holder. I do think the blade holder knobs could be a little more comfortable to grip and the lower one, at least, extended a little. At the back of the upper arm is a socket with a threaded hole for a set screw. There is no mention of what this is for. Presumably, it is for some other light, but that's a best guess. It still amazes me that in the hundreds of years scroll saws (used to be called jig saws) have been around, a flush table insert is still unavailable. It annoys me to have to make a jig of some sort for a new tool that is supposed to work. Other that those minor things, the saw is fine and I'm as happy as I ever am.

Performs Well

I purchased this tool a couple months ago. Since then I have completed a couple of projects and it has been terrific. The unit is easy to operate and makes woodworking fun. I used C clamps to secure the device front and rear on my bench and it bums along just fine. Finished up a family of owls with my grand daughter and am liking forward to making wooden muscle car replicas.

Works for me
Rating: 4
I just cut small stuff with this and it works just fine. Only thing that bugs me is the light vibrates and doesn't stay still but I light my work area with other lighting anyway so it's not that big of a deal. All and all it's a fine saw for the money.

Skil - 3335-07

very good, love the way it cuts, On the other hand it does have some vibration and I wish skil would make a stand for this saw, it does take up a lot of space on the work bench

Nice saw for the price.

Have always enjoyed woodworking, but had never uses a scroll saw before. Bought this to learn and provide an additional hobby in my retirement years. "Got my feet wet" by downloading a deer scene off the internet and then cutting it out on plywood. Made a few small goofs along the way, but my family members were amazed at the results of my first project. Yes, this saw has some excessive vibration at higher speeds, but at low-to-medium speeds no problem. The blade is easy to disconnect and reconnect to get at the internal cutouts (used the pin type blade). Placed a portable shop light directly overhead to help to see details. I am very happy with the performance of this saw how easy it was to learn on. Am looking forward to many hours indulging in this new hobby with this new tool.

Ok for hobbies.

Difficulty with blade installation and have not been able to keep non pin blades attached to holders. Manual not helpful and had to figure out how to tighten blades in top and bottom holders. Once I figured out how to install pinned blades and how to tension, cutting was good. The screw for the hold down safety guard would not stay tightened so I am cutting with out and not having a problem. Motor is powerful enough for cutting 3/4 material.

Good for the price...

Lot of vibration, but that's partially the table I have it on, but I have continually tighten various things because of that... not a huge deal, really. My main complaint is that it's supposed to take pin end and regular blades, but it won't hold the regular ones. All in all, it's a good purchase for hobbyists like me.

Not Imprested
Rating: 3
I bought this because I needed one fast. First off I think the light is to short. And the Blades are breaking at the top near the pin. I have been scrolling for years and never had this problem. How ever this is the first one that I had to play with the speed maybe its not set right. Also the no tools blade change is hard to get to on the bottom and I don't think the top is straight after tightening it. And the little red pop out by the blade is to low it keeps catching the wood because its not level maybe after some dust gets in there it will be better. But its not a bad saw I would recommend it.
