Bosch CM10GD Reviews

Bosch CM10GD 10-Inch Dual Bevel Glide Miter Saw, 15-Amp
The innovation responsible for both the unique appearance and the unparalleled level of performance is Bosch’s patented Axial-Glide system. Beyond giving the CM10GD its distinctive profile, Bosch’s Axial-Glide system eliminates three key challenges miter saw users have endured since the first slide systems debuted many years ago. While the traditional sliding compound miter saw approach enables users to make wider cross cuts, that system takes up more space and is prone to misalignment and stickiness over time. By replacing the sliding rail system with a hinged or articulating glide arm system – similar to the linkage used in a four-bar suspension design – Bosch created a more compact miter saw that delivers durable precision, remaining true and smooth over time. The Bosch CM10GD 10-Inch Dual Bevel Glide Miter Saw features a powerful 15-Amp, 4,000-RPM motor with large easy-to-read bevel and miter scales allowing for precise, quick and easy adjustments: 52-Degree Left/60-Degree Right Miter Capacity; 47-Degree Left/47-Degree Right Bevel Capacity with marked detents and roof pitch angles. The tall sliding 4-1/4-Inch fences allow for increased cutting capacity when cutting tall base and crown molding. With an ergonomic soft-grip ambidextrous trigger handle and a clear lower guard for unobstructed visibility throughout cut, the CM10GD provides maximum comfort for all-day use.

  • Patented Axial-Glide System: Durable and consistent precision over tool life, more compact workspace and an unmatched smoothness of cut Glide Action
  • Upfront Bevel Controls: All-metal bevel lock lever and range selector located upfront for quick and easy adjustments without reaching behind the saw
  • Crown/chop lock: Locks head in place for maximum chop cutting capacity for upright base molding and nested crown
  • Large Easy-to-read Bevel and Miter Scales: Precise, quick and easy adjustments
  • Ergonomic Ambidextrous Trigger Handle with Soft Grip: Large form fitting ergonomic handle provides maximum comfort for all-day use

Great miter saw

There is a lot that i like about this saw. It is my upgrade from the slidig saw and i love it.
Pros:
Smooth gliding action, you can put right against the wall so it’s a space saver, all controls are in the front of the saw so you dont have to reach out in the back to set your bevel cuts, cutting angles above 45° degrees also helpful 47 bevel and 60 miter, you can lock arm in the right position to cut crown moldings also cutting depth adjustment for cutting notches or something else.
Cons:
Material supporting clamp is hard to use and takes too much time with that screw type adjustment I would recommend some type of quick locking clamps for it.
Dust extraction is not too bad but could be improved, i have made some improvements to it and now it catches more dust.
This saw is not cheap so should have nice laser guide right out of the box.
Saw is pretty heavy so not very portable by one person, i have to use wheeled stand to transport to the job site and it takes a lot of space in my truck.

Superb Design, flawless functionality

I received the CM10GD sliding dual bevel Sliding Miter saw a few days ago as a gift along with the Bosch Miter saw stand. Assembling the sturdy stand was very easy. The Miter Saw documentation was easy to follow and I had the saw in operation in a few minutes. A quick project was completed and the saw performed flawlessly.

The documentation mentioned about adjusting the miters and bevel scales, but when I checked these, there were accurately set right out of the box.

I am not a professional woodworker or carpenter and purchased the saw to assist me in building items for the house and garden. Up till now, I had only used a circular saw and a router for woodworking projects. I am just learning all the optional uses of this Miter Saw and am amazed at the versatility and accuracy of the device.
The functionality and design exceeded my expectations.

I strongly recommend purchasing the Bosch Stand with the saw, it eases the transport and is rock solid once set up.

Best gift in years.

Good saw

Bought this saw two weeks ago along with T4B Base .The base is great easy to assemble , study and easily collapses for mobility or storage. Now for the saw, came out of the box way out of calibration in every way. Would like to see a micro adjustment on the miter. Took some time to true up every thing to my liking. Now that the saw is calibrated it works great. Glide is silky smooth with no deflection or play unless you pull or push real hard. Dust collection and blade are decent. The things I don’t like are the plastic miter rail and detent handle already showing signs of ware, and the bevel lock won’t release completely when working with wide stock. I might be able to flip it 180 if every thing works. I’ll see how good Bosch replacement warranty is for the plastic. Hope there durable in the cold. Over all real impressed with the saw accuracy true clean cuts. I also installed the laser guide the other day really like it but might be worthless in direct sunlight. Time and use will be the true test.

I purchased this saw, along with a T4B stand, in the spring of 2015 for the installation phase of my cabinetry business. This is an excellent site saw when used in conjunction with the gravity stand, as it is easy to load, unload, and set up single-handed.

The dual bevel comes in quite handy for miters on baseboards, and wide apron molding under crown. The motion of the articulating glide is fluid on crosscuts and miters, though with bevels the operator needs to be attentive to keeping even pressure on the handle to keep the cut straight.

The safety button is aggravating when one is trying to raise the guard slightly to sight the blade to the cut mark on the work. It is impossible to sight and start the saw, as the thumb must release the guard to depress the safety. The slots in the guard aren’t sufficient for sighting with the guard in the down position.

All of the other features of the saw are very user-friendly. We believe it was definitely a good investment, and highly recommend this product.

Very rugged tool

My wife let me get this saw which in itself is fantastic. I actually had two other miter saws before this one, and returned them to the store. The first saw was to limited, and I would not be able to cut certain pieces of wood. The second saw was very poor for checking correct angle or bevel, back it went. Yes, I had to pay more for the Bosch, but everything was easier to deal with for checking the accuracy of the saw. Plus, a much greater diversity of wood widths can be accomplished with the saw. One issue is the weight.
