Rating: 5 I had a cordless 20v bandsaw with my old company, very very smooth, simple and easy to change blades, I'm a rough person at work and this tool can take a beating! I personally haven't had any problem with the tool. I would use this daily to cut unistrut, up to 5” steel angles, and threaded rod all different sizes. I can't wait to get my hands on another one since I had to give mine back to my old company! Rating: 2 This is my second dewalt 20 volt max bandsaw and I am very disappointed! I have an older dewalt bandsaw and it is incredible! It has 1 trigger and it works great. This new saw has 2 triggers and you have to use them in the right order or the saw won't start, and sometimes the saw just quits and you have to start all over. I can't figure out why dewalt did this, this saw is not for professionals, it's like they made this for high school shop students that have never used a bandsaw before ! The saw was used very little and began breaking blades after 6 months. Blades are getting pushed under rollers. Tracking does not work well and the blades break. Rating: 1 I've had the single switch 5" deep cut DeWalt cordless bandsaw for 2 years and use the heck out of it. It's still holding up and I prefer it over the other brands. I was devastated to find out that a second switch was added as well as more weight. I use my bandsaw in so many positions that always having to have two hands on a switch will not work for me. While googling metal band saws I came across this! I started to research metal band saws and this one seemed the best fit as it has the largest mouth in it's class and the most features of them all, also made entirely of metal except the motor housing it is sturdy plastic but mounting base all metal very solid! Also cuts like a champ on solid 3" cold rolled steel eats it up like nothing, as good as My DoAll at work( I am a Professional Machinist I have my own machines at home I build things my in spare time) Not allowed to use company saws for personal use..... Bottom line if you are in the market for a portable Metal Band Saw look no further!!! This saw also has a very nice feature, soft start saves the motor and variable speed . Rating: 5 Didn't think the saw would perform as excellently as it did right out of the box. Set up was only about 20 mins. Cut through 1.5 x 2 inch aluminum blocks with no trouble at all . Brass round stock just as easy. As recommended in the manual, did NOT use cutting fluid or oil to cool, and fed the blade through the work pieces with only light hand pressure, not trying to rush it. Cuts straight and clean, and is quiet (unlike my chop saw ;-). The machine is well-built and hefty, yet manageable to move around the garage. The only issue I have with it is that the "run" trigger cannot be locked on and requires a little bit of finger force to hold 'er down through the entire duration of the cut (up to several minutes). by Gerry on 2017-09-15T17:00:00 Well built band saw Rating: 5 So far very pleased with the WEN 3975.
