Very smooth and easy to control
Rating: 5
This is a replacement for an older Bosch jigsaw, which I wouldn't have thought could be improved upon. The JS572EB is super smooth with little vibration, cuts cleanly and fits well in my hands. This saw was made in Switzerland. Expensive, but not on a "per year cost"

tested tough
Rating: 5
Bought 2 saws a few weeks ago to to do a difficult job after 4 of our shop jig saws failed (various makes) The task was cutting several 22"x19"portholes in 3/8 thick 20" diameter steel pipe. After cutting 20+ portholes in the pipes the saws are still like new. We used the T118B blades and found a cut life of 2-8 inches per blade. the auto eject blade feature is great. As a shop we were suprised at how well these saws preformed.

Compact, comfortable and surprisingly powerful
Rating: 5
I have been using this saw for quite some time and feel that it is an invaluable part of my tool collection. It is extremely comfortable to use and the number of blade options provide a multitude of applications for everyday projects from metal and wood to plastics and composites. The price is exceptional given its power and versatility...if you need a saber saw that can do it all....AND is reasonably priced....this is the one to have!!!!!

great saw
Rating: 5
I got this about a month ago and have used it several times, it is a great saw very smooth easy to keep on the line. I wish the on off switch was in a different location it really requires 2 hands to operate it safely.

Self cutting
Rating: 5
I bought this kit a few years ago and learned fairly quickly that if you force the cut you work against yourself. You set this baby down into the cut and guide it because it cuts all by itself. Another tip always secure whatever you're cutting to reduce bounce, because this is a very powerful beast of a saw and it will jump around if you don't clamp your work to something stable. The accessories are great but there are many aftermarket blades that are a valuable addition and the case is just right, keeping the saw and extra accessories secure. This saw is very portable and a must have for any circles in your woodworking.

easy to use

I have been buying bosch jig saws for 30 years now, it's the only one i will ever use i love the barrel type because allows me to cut upside down with ease, as a matter of fact i have one just for back up.

awesome saw!

This is by far the best jig saw I have ever used. Easy blade changes, powerful motor, it does the job!

Plenty of power but...
Rating: 4
I almost exclusively invest in Bosch power tools. Adding this Jig Saw to my tool assortment was a no brainer. It's light, powerful and radius cutting is a breeze. The quick-change blade and dust blower features are awesome! I would give it a perfect 5.0 score if two features were improved: 1. I wish that the LED light functioned only when the toll was actually cutting... it comes on the moment the tool is plugged in. I guess it was designed that way to let you know that the tool is energized??? 2. This jig saw needs a trigger type switch... the sliding switch is cumbersome and shutting down the tool in a panic situation is difficult.

Great saw but....
Rating: 3
I bought this saw knowing it had excellent reviews and was very anxious to use it. I really wanted a barrel type jigsaw and had a top panel jigsaw prior to this, an older model. However real quickly I discovered that this tool definitely had a right hander advantage and would be very difficult to use as a left handed. When you grab the barrel naturally your thumb will be on the right side of the saw if you are left-handed and clearly out of reach of the on off switch which is located on the left side of the saw and not easily operable with your index or middle finger. So reluctantly I returned it however immediately ordered a top handle model, JS572ek. Also an excellent saw

This product is simple to use

I am a finish carpenter and do mostly kitchen installations. I find a missing feature to be an advantage... The saw has no orbital cut motion it prevents chip out and splintering if the material which is better for the finish work. I love this tool

Like it a lot!
Rating: 5
A basic jig saw that does 95% of what needs done really well. Doesn't have the bevel setting but seldom need that option any way. It's ergonomic feel is well balanced and I find it is better than most jig saws on the market. Very happy with it!

This along with all Rigid tools are great products

I own this Jig saw head along with all the job max tools. They are all great and with the Lifetime Warranty there is not better deal on the market. I would highly recommend any and all Rigid tools

Blade guide roller
Rating: 4
Great tool to use for home projects. Only issue I noticed is that the blade guide roller is about 0.5 cm misaligned from the blade clamp assembly causing wear on the blade.

Very good, not great
Rating: 4
I have many Ridgid tools which are top level in terms of durability and function. The JobMax is a small step below this level. The balance, power, versatility and function of the jig saw head is quite good but not great. Mine is new (≈9/2015) and I have not noted the the safety switch issue that others have; it is on or off and stays in that position. Mine is the corded unit and it does not seem to lack power for an appropriate jig saw purpose. Where this tool really shines is having several good power tools in one small, light tool bag. The cat's meow when traveling in a small truck camper.

Bi-Direction Lock Off Lever Problem
Rating: 1
The Bi-Directional Lock Out Lever is not an operator friendly design. It really requires one hand to activate it while the other hand is holding the tool. A lock out lever like the one on the Reciprocating Saw Head makes more sense. Or, no lock out lever is preferable. I like the ergonomics of the jig saw itself, but the bi-directional lock out caused me to return the head. It really needs to be redesigned. I have other heads for the JobMax and I do like them.
by TXFM08 on 2014-01-21T16:00:00

Not well suited for battery powered jobmax handle.
Rating: 1
The jigsaw consumes so much power that it basically runs the battery down ~three times faster than I can charge a 18v battery. Batteries are <12 old with light use. Nifty concept and all but I returned it and bought a dedicated (corded) jigsaw (for only ~$10 more than this attachment.) It did seem to work fine otherwise., It is Just not well matched with a cordless device. Ridgid really should somehow recommend this attachment be use with the corded handle only or risk more dissatisfied customers.
by erichtg on 2015-08-31T17:00:00

It requires three hands to work with.
Rating: 1
I found it to time consuming messing with it maybe if you had it all one hand ✋ friendly like the first reviewer said. I returned mine as well.
